Cedars Restaurant

This place was pretty good…but I don’t think it’s the best Indian restaurant in Seattle as it claims. I went there for lunch today with JJ. We ordered the vegetable samosas, spinanch naan, mango curry with lamb, and chicken tandori.

Now, I love samosas…I think I could eat off of them, and I love the tamarind sauce that comes with it. The samosa here were…a bit disappointing. I didn’t think they were as good as some of the other places I’ve had…actually, it was probably the worse samosa I’ve ever had. The spinach naan was pretty tasty though. The mango curry had a good flavor to it and the basamati rice that came with it was also very good. The chicken tandori was very moist and soft…so I appreciate that. I just wasn’t wowed by it in any way.

Overall, I’ve been to better Indian places in Seattle (and now I just realized that I haven’t written about it yet…shame on me!)

Oh, and I got a bad vibe from our waitress. I don’t know why. She seemed a bit haughty to me….but like I said, it was just a vibe.

Chiang Gourmet

Duwardo and I have been there a few times, and the food has always been decent.  However, we’ve now decided to not return here because of a take out incident.  We have take out menus at our house so we called in an order for two dishes, a vegetarian and a meat dish.  They were pretty basic stuff, so when I went to the restaurant, imagine my shock when the prices were more than advertised on the take out menus and instead of the $13 I was expecting to pay, I got stuck with a $22 bill!  Are you kidding me?  $22 for two dishes at a chinese restaurant?  Unacceptable!

We’ve decided we’re going to stick to Jade Garden for our chinese food take out needs.  It’s much better AND cheaper.
