I so badly want to recommend this place. The food wasn’t horrible. The service wasn’t bad either…it’s just…there’s so many better places out there that I can’t offer a recommendation to this one.
I had ordered the potato gnocchi. I love gnocchi and any chance I get, I’m going to eat it. The gnocchi were huge…they tasted ok, but they weren’t your traditional cute fills your mouth up gnocchi. Instead, I got a shallow dish with large pieces of gnocchi that didn’t even fill the plate. I felt totally jipped! I’m not a big eater to begin with, but I certainly was not satisfied or felt full in anyway after that meal. I even went home and ate more!!! I’m usually the one that eats maybe 1/2 – 2/3 of my meal, and then I leave it for someone else (usually Duwardo) to finish the rest.
Duwardo had the Linguini alla Pescatore. There were a lot of clams and mussels on it, but he also felt like it was just ok…nothing spectacular. My friend, TM, was visiting and he had the Funghi e Olio Tartufi Bianci foccacia bruschetta. He said that the food was just “not bad” when I asked how it was.
I really badly want to support this place. I love the idea of family-run restaurants, but I can’t do it…and it makes me sad. I may try to give it another shot…but it’ll be hard since I know of better Italian restaurants.

Duwardo, friends and I decided to go to Agua Verde for happy hour last Friday because we had checked online and it appeared to have some good happy hour deals. We get to the restaurant and the sign on the door says “happy hour Monday-Friday 4-6 pm.” Great!
We go inside and after we’ve been seated, we’re informed that they don’t do happy hour on Fridays. Right…we’re all pretty hungry and thirsty so we decide to stay anyway.
I ordered the limeade and the carne taco. Duwardo got the quesadilla and the mango margarita, BL got the mangodilla and the fresca margarita, AD got the vegetarian burrito and the rum and tamarind, and AK got the burrito de mole. I personally thought the food was just ok…actually, I didn’t think it was that great. I don’t think Duwardo was that impressed either. Sure, we’re both pretty picky when it comes to mexican food (I’m originally from San Diego…we have good mexican food there) but I’ve certainly had better mexican food in Seattle.
Additionally, the waitress kept staring at our table, as though she wanted us to speed it up and leave. We had just finished eating when we started to feel like she was giving us “the glare.” Lastly, you’re limited to a “two cup” of salsa per bowl of chip. Not cool.
I don’t think I’ll ever return to this place. Go to Gorditos if you want a mexican fix.
